E-Portfolios

Welcome to the USF Honors College E-Portfolio site. Here you will find out what our accomplished students are doing throughout their college years. E-Portfolios reflect the critical processes of knowledge development which the student is involved with, various professional activities, and personal reflection of the experiences associated with these diverse activities.

Creating a Honors E-Portfolio

If you experience any difficulties with this process, please contact Kelly Brabant at kellybrabant@usf.edu for assistance.

  1. Go to https://sites.google.com
  2. Log in to or create a G-Mail account
    • This must be a different G-Mail address from your @mail.usf.edu e-mail address
    • Using your @mail.usf.edu will cause problems later on
  3. Click on "Create site"
  4. Select the "Browse the gallery for more" option under "Choose a template to use"
  5. Click on "Public" on the left menu
  6. Type "USF Honors" in the search button and click "Search"
  7. Select the "USF Honors College" template
  8. Click "Select". This will give you a template which you may or may not choose to use. You may also modify the structure, colors, format and content of your page. Just keep it neat and make it easy to read (i.e., avoid bright text or backgrounds)
    • PLEASE NOTE: You do not have to use this template. It is simply a guide to help you with the creation of your E-Portfolio. Other templates are available for your use through Google Sites and you can customize your page any way you desire.
  9. Name your site (ex. Rocky the Bull). Note that you can use any theme you want with this template to change the appearance of your site
  10. Click "Create Site"

Designing your Honors E-Portfolio

  1. You may use the designated Honors template you selected when created your site
  2. If you wish to change the template
    • Click on the More tab at the right hand corner on the page (to the right of the pencil and page icons)
    • Click on “Manage Site”
    • At the bottom of the left menu bar, click on “Themes”
    • You may preview the different themes to see how they will look on your page
    • If you click on “Colors and Fonts” you will be able to change different aspects of the themes, such as the header and content color, font color and size, and even add background images to your page
    • Hit Save and go back to your page to see your page
    • When going to add the content to your page, click on the pencil icon at the right hand corner on the page
  3. To add pictures, you can click on the pencil icon at the right hand corner on the page. A toolbar pops up and there is an Insert option. Under Insert, there is an image option which will allow you to add picture to your page.
  4. If you wish to delete a sub-page, for example the Research or the Service pages, click on the page and click on More where there is an option to delete the page
You will be eligible for scholarships once your eP is approved; it does not have to be linked to our website. If no changes are required, linking an eP to our website takes about two weeks after it has been submitted for approval.

E-portfolios are meant to visually highlight student achievements and they may be accessed by external audiences. Therefore, we expect ePs to be accurate and content-rich. You may upload papers, assignments, projects, etc., that you are proud of. Pictures and videos are great... and definitely add your resume.

Once you have a URL for your site, email it to Mr. Mejias at mejias@honors.usf.edu so that we may feature it on our website.
