Rick Temple, clinical psychologist, will talk about time management, something many of us could use; Les Muma, entrepreneur and philanthropist will share his “secrets of success”; the Florida Orchestra has invited us to be their guest at a concert; our other scheduled events are also on the website. Take a look and sign up for those which interest you and which seem beneficial .

Call for Papers
Undergraduate bioethics journal: here is a refereed journal dealing with medical ethics. If you submit a proposal and it is accepted, your expenses will be paid. -=Call for Papers=-
Honors Band
You can now earn credit for playing/singing in the Honors band even if you are not in the actual class. We will offer one credit for students who wish to be a part of the “Rubber Band” in the spring. It will meet on Mondays from 6-7 PM. Email Dr. Silverman and he will get you registered.
The strategic plan of the University of South Florida seeks to expand world-class interdisciplinary research, creative and scholarly endeavors and to expand local and global engagement initiatives. The Undergraduate Scholars program adds depth to students' University of South Florida academic experience. It is designed to help students apply academic learning to real-life issues and problems through faculty supervised research. This innovative program seeks to encourage students to engage in meaningful service and to ‘connect’ to the global community. The University Scholars program recognizes students who fulfill the University goals of community engagement, undergraduate research, and global citizenship on both transcript and diploma. Mesoamerican Archaeology Field School—Deadline January 15
The Hurricane REU program at the University of South Florida provides a stimulating and interactive 9-week summer research experience for undergraduates. This interdisciplinary program fully engages students in collaborative exploration at a Research I institution with distinguished faculty mentors drawn from disciplines such as Anthropology, Sociology, Education, Geography, Public Health, Humanities, and Social Work.
We are pleased to welcome to new staff members to the Office of Undergraduate Research:
Computer Science Professor Dr. Dewey Rundus is our new associate director of Undergraduate Research. He also has a Ph.D. in psychology and a lot of experience working with undergraduates, including teaching in the Honors College. His office is across from Dr. Kleine’s.
Ms. Lauren Schumacher is our new academic specialist. She grew up in Clearwater and holds a MPH from a university slightly to the north. You will find her in the main Undergraduate Research Office.

An exciting internship opportunity (especially for those in Marketing/PR/Advertising) with the Gasparilla International Film Festival Tampa Bay: http://www.gasparillafilmfestival.com/
An intern position is needed immediately to assist one of the Board of Directors of the Gasparilla International Film Festival in managing in-kind relationships between the festival and media sponsors by maximizing value for both parties, working along side our PR agency to draft press releases and send out newsletters, manage media sponsorships and relationships to make sure we are utilizing the terms to our benefit (such as, making sure we use all ads provided by TBT and St Pete Times and airspace provided by Brighthouse, etc.)
This is a great opportunity for students to meet some of the most important people in the Tampa Bay Area and also be a part of one of the largest Film Festivals in the country!
