Scholarship for you!
The Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships through the use of internet-based quiz competitions and this semester, we are offering two unique scholarship opportunities for students at University of South Florida. The Business School Scholarship and Future Teachers Scholarship are designed to reward students for demonstrating their knowledge of the material they are learning in their classes. This semester's topics are Accounting and Classroom Management, respectively.
These scholarships are only open to students at select universities and University of South Florida is on the list because students from your school scored well in similar scholarships last semester. The quizzes follow standard textbook material and are scheduled to coincide with the midterm and final exams.

Summer/Fall 2009 Registration
Summer/Fall 2009 registration begins Monday, March 23. In preparation for registration, please call 813-974-3087 to schedule your advising appointment. If you plan to graduate in summer or fall 2009, please make sure to meet with your departmental major advisor prior to registration to confirm that you will meet all necessary requirements.

Please note that the last date to withdraw from a spring 2009 course without academic penalty is Saturday, March 14. If you are considering withdrawing from a course, please see an Honors Advisor to discuss potential academic/financial complications from the withdrawal.

Sacred Leaves Program
This year's Sacred Leaves program at USF is entitled "Comparative Mysticism of the Middle Ages" and includes a keynote address by Michael Sells of University of Chicago, a prominent scholar of Sufi spirituality. Dr. Sells' address will take place on Thurs. Feb. 19 at 7 p.m., in Traditions Hall at the Alumni Center, entitled: "Mysticism, Longing and the Erotic in the Writings of 13th-Century Sufi Master Ibn al-Arabi".
The line-up of symposium presenters includes emerging scholars from five countries, who will treat connections among Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
