USF Morsani College of Medicine SELECT Program Info Session
Join Dr. Specter and students from the Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) to learn about their new SELECT program. This is a special presentation for Honors College students.  A tour of the medical school will follow an overview of the program and a student panel discussion.
2011 Admits Deadline for 7-Year Program Declaration
If you are a first year Honors student following the BS/MD 7 Year track, you must officially declare this track by Friday, April 13, 2012. To do so, simply go to the BS/MD webpage, Fall '11 Admit tab, and complete the BS/MD Interest Declaration Form. You must do this even if you indicated 7 Year interest on your initial application paperwork. Late submissions cannot be accepted. If you are planning to graduate this semester, please go to the Honors website/current students/graduation and "name your plan to graduate". After the University's application process is complete, we will send a request for additional information.

Studying Abroad in Asia in the Fall Freeman Asia Fall Deadline March 1

These workshops will cover information about the Marshall, Mitchell, Rhodes, and Fulbright programs and their application processes. Students who will be seniors in Fall 2012, have at least a 3.7 GPA, and are otherwise very comeptitive should attend.
Florida Gubernatorial Fellowship Program puts you in the Governors Office
The FL Gubernatorial Fellows Program gives you firsthand insight into how the government operates. Students spent two semesters working alongside state government top staff. More information can be found at www.floridafellows.com.

New Whitaker International Undergraduate Program for Biomedical Engineering Students Deadline March 15
The application will be made available early January 2012 for the first round of grants which will be for Fall/Academic Year 2012-2013.
With support from the Former Whitaker Foundation, IIE will provide undergraduate biomedical engineers and bioengineers funding for a semester or one academic year to pursue, in an international setting, coursework in biomedical engineering.
To be eligible for the award, an applicant must be a US citizen or have permanent residency status, be enrolled as a sophomore, junior or senior (with at least one semester remaining) and demonstrate a need for financial support to study abroad.

The GLBTA Pre Medical Student Association invites you to take part in a discussion about drug use and abuse in the LGBT community on February 15th in MSC 3712 at 6pm. Did you know that when compared to heterosexuals, LGBT persons are more likely to use drugs and have higher rates of substance abuse. This discussion will examine the reasons behind this behaviour, possible preventative measures and ways in which medical intervention can help. Come be apart of the solution to this problem!

Pre-Med AMSA's 10th Annual Medical School Forum is being held at the USF Morsani College of Medicine on Febrary 18th, 2012. This event connects students with representatives from different medical schools around the US, Europe, and Caribbean and gives students the chance for one-on-one networking.
