IT'S BACK! Honors Got Talent returns to USF on February 26th at 7pm in the Oval Theater! It's a talent show that features the hottest acts in the Honors community: singers, dancers, musicians, comedians, and other unique performers, all competing for the advertised top prize of a USF Scholarship! Come out and see an event sure to be filled with impressive abilities! Who knows... maybe you might get to see the next Susan Boyle! So come on down for one of HCSC's greatest annual events: HONORS GOT TALENT!
What exactly are "Feed America Mobile Pantries?": Mobile pantries allow food banks to engage a much larger circle of groups in supplying food to the needy, thereby increasing the number of people served, and extending service into regions that the food bank hadn't before been able to reach.
The Mobile Pantry Program Concept: A mobile pantry is a method of direct client distribution in an organized format managed either by food bank or agency staff that utilizes a dry/refrigerated vehicle to provide food that traditional pantries do not normally accept or distribute to people in need.
How can I get involved?: The Honors College has a food collection box in the lobby where non-perishable items may be dropped off. There will also be a box at every HLLC event for the rest of the semester, so come prepared!
To get more involved, the organization meets every 3rd week of the month (March 20th is the next). The meetings run from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. The event is at the University Area Community Development Center (14013 N 22nd street, Tampa).
Check out the website for more information on how to get involved in this great service project!
Please Pass the Job Offer Dining Etiquette Workshop
Thursday, February 27th 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. JPH 1317 Proper etiquette exists to make you feel comfortable - not uncomfortable. Employers want to see you in social situations and observe how you conduct yourself, particularly if the job you want requires a certain standard of conduct with clients and superiors. The meal is a time to visit and interact, this is always more important than the function of eating. Come with friends and learn from an expert in a stress free environment! NOTE: Please email Kyleen or Christine for special dining accommodations.
One of my goals, if re-elected for a second term, will be to provide more events and opportunities for students to meet Senators who are representing them. In addition as an Honors student, I will represent all of you and voice your opinions for any and all issues regarding the Honors College. Vote now at sg.usf.edu/vote

The Student Government Elections are Upon Us
Calling all Honors College students! Elections for USF Student Government are fast approaching. This is your chance to be heard. This is your chance to be involved in student life. This is your chance to take an active role in the future of your university. As members of the Honors College, top priorities of yours should be active participation with student life and leadership, and few opportunities for either are as great as student government. This month, take part in the governance of your school by voting and by learning about the candidates running for office. Two debates are coming up, and as informed, knowledgeable students, you should take advantage of them. They are: the Bulls Radio Debate on February 10th at 7:30pm at MSC Beef O'Brady's, and the SG Debate on February 19th at 6:30pm in the MSC Ballroom. The second debate will be followed by a reception at Top of the Palms from 8 until 10pm. The following day, February 20th, a candidate mixer will be held by the Bronze Bulls at noon. The elections will be from Monday, February 24th, through Thursday, February 27th. Finally, the results party will be held in the MSC Amphitheater on February 28th from 3 until 5pm. As Honors College students you have much to gain from participating in the electoral process as voters and hopefully as future candidates. As a freshperson class, you have the most to gain as you will be at the campus longer than other students. Please consider coming out to attend the debates and to support the candidates.
If you would like to be included in future editions of "Know-a-BULL News", articles may be submitted for consideration to Dr. Silverman through the submission form. Submissions should be brief and well written. Links should be JPG images or PDFs.
