Dean's Update:

  • Today! March 2: 80s Skate Night - For Charity!

    Come out and support the fundraising efforts of your fellow Honors College students and have a great time at an 80s themed Skate Party, Tuesday, March 2 from 7 - 9 PM at United Skates of America, 5121 N. Armenia Ave. Pre-sale tickets are $10 - pick up yours at the Honors College front desk or at the event! Each ticket purchased enters you for an iPod Bundle to be given away that night. Proceeds benefit malnourished infants and children in Panama. Pass the word!!!

  • Thesis

    For Thesis I, this Friday, March 5, is the deadline for the submission of the Prospectus/Thesis Approval Form.

    Thesis II students: please know that the last step, Thesis Presentation, will have to take place before or on the last day of classes, Friday, April 30.

  • National Security Analysis & Intelligence Summer Seminar (NSAISS)

    Dates: July 11-23, 2010

    The Office of the Director of National Intelligence's (ODNI) National Security Analysis & Intelligence Summer Seminar (NSAISS) is now accepting applications for a two week summer program in Washington, DC. NSAISS addresses critical national priorities in the U.S. Intelligence Community and offers participants the chance to study with currently serving intelligence analysts and other professionals through a curriculum of lectures, case studies, practice simulations, site visits to agencies, and other forms of exploration of intelligence disciplines, methodologies and substantive topics under the direction of the Intelligence Community, academia and private sector experts.

    Selected participants will receive a one time, $500 stipend; accommodations, transportation to/from Washington D.C. and to all program activities; and temporary "Secret" level security clearance for the duration of the seminar.

  • Possible Summer Job

    I got the following note from an on-campus office. This job would be on campus and pay $10-15 per hour for a 40 hour week. Please let me know id you are interested and I will make the contact for you.

    I wondered if you knew of any students, perhaps who graduate this spring, that may be interested in short-term employment in our office this summer? It is a great opportunity for anyone with administrative skills and an interest in global initiatives. Dr. W will be working on putting together a conference in Ghana, and this person would have a large role in that effort.

  • 4th Colloquium

  • New Front Desk Sign In

    When visiting the Honors College, students will now need to bring with them their USF ID card. A new sign in system has been installed at the front desk to allow the Honors staff to better track the number of students seen, and reasons for visiting. Please remember to bring your USF ID card, and to sign in at the front desk.

  • Advising Appointments

    Registration for Summer and Fall 2010 begins March 29, 2010. First year students MUST have an advising appointment prior to registration. Please call the Honors College office at 813-974-3087 and make an appointment with your advisor as soon as possible.

  • Paid Internship/job

    Eumote Publishing and Promotions is offering exciting paid internship opportunities to qualified honors students in graphic design and marketing. With our firm, you will learn about the printing and design industry and get a chance to work on projects for some of the Tampa Bay area's premiere companies. You will work on your own projects under the supervision of experienced artists as well as learn how to operate digital presses and book-on-demand technology.   • Nourish International

    Nourish International is inviting you to play a leading role in creating solutions to global poverty by applying for our Chapter Founders Program.

    During the school year, Nourish Chapters run small businesses called ventures on campus to raise money, membership, and awareness. They then choose a compelling student-led project proposed by an international organization. Over the summer, students travel abroad to a local community to implement their chosen project as a tangible solution to poverty.

    The USF PRIDE Alliance is hosting a Drag Show on Wednesday, March 3 in the MSC Ballroom and wants you to be there! The show will feature a set of amateur student performers at 7:30 (including one Honors College student) and a set of some of the best professional kings and queens in the state starting at 8:30. Light refreshments will be provided. Presale tickets can be purchased at PRIDE's table at Bull Market for $3. Admission at the door is $5. Don't forget to tip your performers!

  • Dance the Night Away and be a Miracle Maker

    Want to meet tons of new people and help the All Children's Hospital in St. Pete? Sign up today for Dance Marathon which will be held on March 27th from 12pm to 5am in the MSC Ballroom.     Do you need a Committee Letter? The Application for the Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC) Committee Letter 2010 is now available!!! This is for students who are applying for admission to health professions programs that will start in Fall 2011.
