Environmental and Ecological Education Field School
Indonesia, Sept 8th to Nov. 15th, 2010
From volcano geology to highland agriculture studies to coral reef ecology, students can look forward to a range of coursework about the environment. With the current trends in sustainable development, the main objective of this field school will be to develop students environmental perspectives through hands on field work in an international setting. Also, the program introduces methods for promoting environmental and ecological thinking across all grade levels and all subject areas.
Although led by Simon Fraser University, this field school program is partnered with Sam Ratulangi University ( UNSRAT), located in the Manado region, students will be studying near an epicenter of marine biodiversity.

New Front Desk Sign In
When visiting the Honors College, students will now need to bring with them their USF ID card. A new sign in system has been installed at the front desk to allow the Honors staff to better track the number of students seen, and reasons for visiting. Please remember to bring your USF ID card, and to sign in at the front desk.
Registration for Summer and Fall 2010 begins March 29, 2010. First year students MUST have an advising appointment prior to registration. Please call the Honors College office at 813-974-3087 and make an appointment with your advisor as soon as possible.
Eumote Publishing and Promotions is offering exciting paid internship opportunities to qualified honors students in graphic design and marketing. Students will learn about the printing and design industry and get a chance to work on projects for some of the Tampa Bay area's premiere companies. Students will work on their own projects under the supervision of experienced artists as well as learn how to operate digital presses and book-on-demand technology. The skills students acquire during their tenure at Eumote will be invaluable to any career in design and marketing. USF Global Health Challenges - China
The USF Global Health Challenges - China held from May 17-June 7, 2010, examines the health care system and issues relating to the world's most populated country. Students will hear lectures from English-speaking Nankai professors from a number of different disciplines and the program will take students to more than 10 site-visits in and around Tianjin, China.
The cost of the program is $2000 and includes accommodation, site visits & lectures, entrance fees, Education Abroad T-shirt, emergency medical insurance, internal transportation and many meals. For additional program information, visit:

Color your sole Toms Shoes event
The Cuban American Student Association, in collaboration with other 20 organizations encourages USF students to order their white canvas pair of Toms Shoes, which they will be able to decorate during the Color your sole Tom shoes event, in an environment filled with cultural diversity, FREE FOOD, entertaining performances, FREE SHIRTS to the first 250 who attend (no purchase of shoes is necessary), music, along with fun activities. NO PURCHASE OF SHOES IS NECESSARY. This event is open to ALL USF students, however the purchase of shoes is encouraged. For each pair of shoes that is bought, another is donated to a child in need in an underdeveloped country.
