  • New! - Mammalian Physiology for Fall 2013

Mammalian Physiology (PCB 4744) is being offered this fall, and is a highly recommended prep course for the current MCAT (as well as the 2015 test). Therefore, we strongly encourage students to consider enrolling in this course Cell Biology (PCB 3023) is a pre-requisite or a co-requisite. This course was also just approved as a Tier II Biology elective for the Biomedical Sciences (BMS) major.

  • Research Opportunity

The volunteer will assist with one or more research studies related to maternal and child health at the College of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics and the Lawton & Rhea Chiles Center for Healthy Mothers and Babies. The primary responsibility will involve entering data into a database as well as the abstraction of medical information from patient databases. Other responsibilities could include assisting the study team with daily functions related to goals and specific aims of clinical research projects already in progress. The volunteer will be required to obtain Human Subjects Certification. Interested candidates please send resume to Lindsey King at .

  • Reminder about use of Honors Lounge

As a reminder, the lounge is reserved for active Honors College students. If you plan to bring guests to the lounge, including members of your student organization, please make sure to get pre-approval from the Dean or an Honors Advisor. Also note that you must accompany your guests at all times, and that you will be responsible for cleaning the lounge after use, especially when food is served.

  • Saving Seats Equals Academic Dishonesty

The University is carefully looking at registration records to prevent students from "holding" places for their friends. The penalties for doing this are severe, including loss of early registration privileges, so please do not attempt to do your friend a favor.

  • New Cultural Experience Requirements

The Honors College has changed the policy requiring a foreign language for students pursuing a B.S. degree.  The new requirements may be viewed at  If you have met, or anticipate meeting this requirement, please be sure to complete the new Cultural Experience Approval Form.  Thank you.
