Great Opportunity for YOU
The USF/Division of Allergy and Immunology would like to offer two volunteer Research Assistant positions to those highly motivated Honors College Students who would like to become a top biomedical scientist to advance the science of the field of allergy and immunology and would like to volunteer on weekends. The Division is one of the best principal training and research programs throughout the United States and the world, providing state-of-the-art learning experience in the field of allergy and immunology. The research interest in the lab is described as follows: "MicroRNAs (miRs) are ~22 nucleotides long non-coding RNAs that inhibit mRNA translation by the base pairing rule at the accuracy of one base. So far over two thousands of human mature miRs are discovered. As each miR may regulate hundreds of genes, and each gene may be regulated by multiple miRs, it is believed that most human genes and the entire spectrum of biological pathways are tightly and delicately controlled by the miRNome. Deregulation of miRs may contribute to various diseases. We have been working on inflammation regulators responsive to lipopolysaccharides (LPS) stimulation (Science. 2002 15295(5562):2094-7, J Immunol. 2001 Apr 1166(7):4586-95, Oncogene. 2004 May 2023(23):4089-97). We found that SH2-containing inositol phosphatase (SHIP) plays an important role in two processes that limit the success of allogeneic marrow transplantation: graft rejection and graft-versus-host disease using Cre/loxP conditional knockout mouse models. We discovered a novel gene: LPS-responsive beige-like anchor (LRBA). Single gene mutations of this gene cause immune deficiency and autoimmunity in human. Currently, we are interested in studying the mechanism underlying miR regulations of the immunity and developing miR biomarkers and therapeutics for inflammatory diseases such as asthma using cell culture and mouse models" If interested, please send resume to email@example.com

Animal House is USF's ONLY student organization made up of animal lovers committed to bettering the welfare of the animal community! Our mission is to spread awareness about a number of animal-related issues plaguing the community, some of which are: - homeless pet population - shelter overcrowding - rate of euthanasia - animal cruelty - irresponsible pet ownership. Through volunteering, fundraising, and educating the public, Animal House hopes to help the surrounding Tampa Bay community eradicate these problems. This year, our main goal is to help Hillsborough County Animal Services lower their rate of euthanasia and raise their number of adopted animals. They are putting down over 1,200 cats and dogs every month! If you're a true animal lover, join us in our fight to save the lives of HCAS's animals!
A new project http://graduate-school.phds.org/education-index/online-business-degree is a comprehensive and informative resource that systematically sorts out all the available business programs available in the U.S. This information is very valuable to students today who are not only dealing with the competitive nature of higher education, but also the rising costs of it.
