  • Thesis Presentation Day

     To All Honors College Students:

Thesis is the cornerstone of the Honors College experience. Recognizing its importance for our academic community, we have established Thesis Day, when some of our students are given the opportunity to present their theses in a public forum.  We request that all students currently enrolled in Thesis I plan to attend for at least one of the 1 1/2-hour long sessions. We will also assign each attending freshman a Freshpeople 5 credit for each session.

This semester, Thesis Day will be Friday, December 2, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Honors College (ADM 241).  Oral presentations will last 15-20 minutes. PowerPoint, judiciously used, is acceptable.  A 10-15 minute discussion will follow.

To all Students presently enrolled in Thesis II :

If you will finish your thesis this semester, please fill out the Thesis Day Registration Form, found on the Honors website.  Submit it no later than Wednesday, November 23rd.

Since more students will complete their theses than can be accommodated on Thesis Day, we will select a representative sample to be presented. If you are selected, we will notify you for which format you have been selected.  In the event that you are not selected, please know that only limits of space could exclude you.

If you present and your mentor and committee member can come to Thesis Day, it will count as the required public presentation if not, you will need to present to your committee on a separate occasion arranged with them.

    Thank you.
