Honors College Admissions Requirements

The Honors College offers tracks for both first year students and transfer/continuing students. You and an Honors College advisor will determine the appropriate track for you during orientation.
First Year Students
Students who enter Honors as first year students must present:
  • 3.8 cumulative high school GPA (as calculated by USF) and
  • an SAT I score of 1300 with a minimum verbal score of 580 OR an ACT Composite score of 29 with a minimum English score of 29

All students who meet these requirements receive an invitation to join the Honors College once they have been admitted to USF. It is important to apply early, as scholarship assistance is only guaranteed up to a certain date each semester. For an application for admission to the University, please see the USF Undergraduate Office of Admissions Website.

Transfer/Continuing Students
Students entering the Honors College as transfer/continuing students must present:
  • 3.5 cumulative and (if appropriate) USF GPA based on 45 college or university level credits. You must have successfully completed one full semester of coursework as a degree seeking college student.

Interested students should send an email to contactus@honors.usf.edu

Students who do not meet the specific criteria, but are interested in participating in the Honors College are encouraged to contact Dr. Stuart Silverman, the Dean of The Honors College, to discuss other options.
