Graduation Information

Congratulations! After years of toil and poverty you're finally ready to graduate. This section of the web site includes all of the information you need to know in order to receive your degree.

Requirements

First, you must submit an Application for Graduation through the college of your major. The Office of the Registrar lists the application deadline for each term in the USF -Academic Calendar- (Note: Some college deadlines, including Engineering, are earlier. Please consult your advising office for specific information).

The Registrar's office forwards the names of graduating Honors students to Ms. Sturrock, who then verifies that each potential graduate has completed the Honors curriculum and foreign language requirement, and has the 3.3 USF and 3.3 cumulative GPAs, which are required to graduate with Honors (all course attempts are considered when calculating these GPAs).

Potential Honors graduates receive electronic invitations to the Honors graduation ceremony and reception. In addition, the Ceremony Questionnaire and the Honors Senior Exit Survey are available through the following links.

It is important that you return these forms by July 30th, 2008, in order to participate in the Honors ceremony. We also ask that you stop by the Honors office and let us take your picture, which will be used during the ceremony.

We will provide the items necessary to identify you as an Honors College graduate, free of charge. For more information on the university graduation process, or the process to purchase caps, gowns, and Honors sashes, please visit the USF Commencement page at www.usf.edu/commencement.

Honors Graduation Ceremony and Reception

Each semester the Honors College staff acknowledges the accomplishments of graduates during the Honors Graduation Ceremony and Reception. Family and friends are invited to share in this special event and join us in offering our congratulations and appreciation to these amazing students.

The 2008 Summer Honors College Graduation Reception will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8th, in Traditions Hall of the Alumni Center, with the ceremony following at 4:00 p.m.

You will receive your graduation invitation by email. Please submit the Ceremony Questionnaire (-Honors Ceremony Questionnaire-), regardless of whether or not you plan to attend the ceremony. We are also looking for your photographs to include in the “Year in Review” slide show. Please send your photos to Mr. Wei Liu at liu@honors.usf.edu.

Please also take the time to submit the Honors Senior Exit Survey (-Honors Senior Exit Survey-). The information from this survey helps the Honors College at USF to improve services and make the university experience more enjoyable and satisfying.
