Honors at St. Petersburg is looking for bright, highly motivated students
who are seeking a challenging new academic experience while enjoying the
beauty and unique features of the USF – St. Petersburg campus.
Honors at St. Petersburg offers a series of unique courses and experiences.
These courses, along with Freshman English I & II and two semesters
of Mathematics meet the University’s general education and exit
requirements. Students must also show competency in a foreign language,
regardless of major. Students can major in business, education, anthropology,
criminology, English, geography or government and international affairs.
Eligible students must present a 3.5 weighted high school GPA and either
a 1200 on the SAT I or a 27 on the EACT. Completion of all Honors requirements
with a 3.3 USF and overall GPA designates students as Honors graduates
with the appropriate notation on transcripts and diplomas, and special
recognition at graduation.
The campus serves 3,300 students in a small-college atmosphere on beautiful
Bayboro Harbor. It is within walking distance of downtown St. Petersburg,
with shopping, restaurants, museums, theatres, and sporting venues. The
Poynter Institute, Marine Science Center and Florida Center for Teachers
are on campus or a short walk away. Private housing opportunities are
