Dual enrollment in USF classes is open to academically qualified students who are currently enrolled in public/private high schools and who are recommended by their guidance counselor or principal. This program is also available to home-schooled students.
Note: Only courses not offered at Hillsborough Community College will be approved for Dual Enrollment at the University.
Students must:
- be at least 16 years old at start of term.
- have proof of a minimum of 500 on SAT Reading and 500 on SAT Quantitative; or a score of 21 on ACT English, 21 on ACT Reading and a score of 21 on ACT Mathematics for a minimum composite of 21.
- have completed the equivalent of the sophomore year, achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher (as calculated by USF), and satisfied any course prerequisites
- Submit a list of courses and the number of credits necessary to complete the high school diploma on school letterhead, from the school counselor or principal.
All documentation must received in the dual enrollment office four weeks prior to the beginning of the semester.
All students must also have completed the Non-Degree Seeking Student application four weeks prior to the start of the semester.
Application Process
- 1: Apply to USF as a Non-Degree Seeking Student
- 2: Complete & forward supplemental documentation
- 3: Register for approved courses.
- 4: Order appropriate textbooks.
- 5: Purchase a parking decal
Questions or problems should be addressed immediately with the coordinator to avoid academic or financial penalty.
All dual enrollment students are required to maintain good academic standing at USF.

NOTE: Prior to registration for classes that meet on campus, all students must submit acceptable proof of immunizations to the Student Health Services.
